Teens and higher level students can share the same source of demotivation: a creeping sensation of not making genuine progress, not learning anything useful. This workshop will look at a series of content-rich, student-led activities that allow for a real sense of achievement and development, plenty of authentic interaction and language practice, and for the teacher to identify any gaps in knowledge so that we can be truly supportive of – and useful to! - our C1, C2 and teenaged learners.

Fiona is currently a lecturer/teacher/author working at the University of Oxford, but taught in Spain for 29 years. She is also trains teachers, regularly collaborating with SOL, Macmillan Education and NILE.
As a writer, her coursebooks include Motivate, All Clear and Dive In!, and resources include ETpedia Vocabulary and, most recently Teaching Teenagers (Delta Publishing) and The Human Connection (OUP). She is co-founder of ELTon-awarded EVE, and founder of #SpillTheELT.
She also writes screenplays and short fiction, paints, hikes, loves photography and is happiest on, in or near the water.
