Improving student motivation, engagement, wellbeing, social awareness and academic performance using talking, discussion, curiosity and problem-solving approaches in the classroom.

This session is based on cognitive and social psychology, deep processing and developing meaningful student engagement in the classroom. The sessions are run by John Hepburn, Educational Psychologist and company director of EdPsychs Ltd.

In session two we:

  • Look at the models of how we use these approaches in UK schools and practice these
  • Bring in materials that we can use to support this process (which participants can take with them)
  • Use additional interactive approaches using books and resources that participants can use in their schools
  • Learn how professional psychologists build on these  approaches to further develop motivation, engagement, wellbeing, social awareness and academic performance in the classroom
