Engaging and Effective Lessons
We asked presenters to answer a few questions. Monika Ziębakowska talks about her presentation below.
What inspired your presentation topic, and why do you think it's important for English language teachers today?
I was inspired by the need to make lessons more engaging and effective. Strong lesson openings and closings boost retention, motivation, and student participation—key aspects of successful language learning.
What are some common misconceptions about your area of expertise in ELT, and how do you address them?
Many believe lesson openers and closers are just “fillers,” but they’re essential for structuring lessons and ensuring better retention. I address this by demonstrating practical strategies that enhance learning outcomes.
How do you see technology shaping the future of English language teaching and learning?
Technology offers interactive tools like AI-driven feedback, gamification, and adaptive learning, making lessons more personalized and engaging. The key is balancing tech with human interaction.
