Stimulating Talent

Jeanne Bocková the Center for Talented Minds talks about their work.

What new innovations or resources is your company bringing to the ELT field, and how do they benefit teachers and learners?

At the Center for Talented Minds (CTM), we provide an innovative approach to English language learning by integrating it into specialized academic programs. Our CTM Online Junior Program allows students, mostly Czech  juniors, to study subjects such as science, programming, and history in English, giving them a natural and immersive language-learning experience. This approach enhances both their subject knowledge and language proficiency, helping them develop critical thinking and communication skills in English. Additionally, our Discovery Saturdays offer younger learners the opportunity to explore diverse topics in English, fostering a love for learning and language acquisition from an early age.

By focusing on real-world applications and interdisciplinary learning, we ensure that students do not just learn English—they use it as a tool for academic and personal growth.

Why did you choose to partner with the P.A.R.K. Conference, and what are you most excited about?

We chose to partner with the P.A.R.K. Conference because we share a common mission: enhancing education and supporting teachers in delivering high-quality English learning experiences. This conference is a hub for educators looking to innovate and improve their teaching methods, and we believe CTM’s approach to subject-based language learning aligns perfectly with this goal.

We are particularly excited about engaging with teachers who are passionate about helping students develop both language skills and a deeper understanding of academic subjects. We look forward to sharing how our programs can be a valuable resource for educators looking to enrich their curriculum and provide students with meaningful learning opportunities.

Can you share a success story of how your product or service has impacted language teaching or learning?

One of our most inspiring success stories comes from a 13-year-old student who enrolled in our CTM Online Junior Program to improve her English skills while exploring her passion for biology. She started with a basic understanding of scientific terminology in English, but through structured coursework, personalized feedback from instructors, and interaction with international resources, her confidence and proficiency skyrocketed. After completing the program, she applied to a prestigious bilingual high school and was accepted thanks to her strong academic English skills and ability to think critically in a second language. Her story demonstrates how integrating English learning with subject exploration can empower students and open doors to new educational opportunities.

What challenges do you see English teachers facing today, and how does your organization help address them?

One of the biggest challenges English teachers face today is keeping students engaged and showing them the practical value of language learning. Many students struggle to see English beyond textbooks and grammar exercises, which can make learning feel abstract and disconnected from their interests.CTM helps address this by embedding English into engaging, real-world academic contexts. Instead of learning English in isolation, students use it as a tool to explore subjects they love, whether it’s astronomy, coding, or literature. This makes language learning more meaningful, motivating, and effective.Additionally, teachers often need innovative resources and support to personalize learning for diverse student needs. Our online programs provide structured yet flexible courses, expert mentorship, and a rich library of materials that teachers can incorporate into their own classrooms to enhance students’ learning experiences.By supporting teachers with content and methodology that blends language with subject-based exploration, CTM contributes to a more dynamic and effective approach to English language education.
